My retirement plan doesn't rely on a government program. I'm gonna rob a bank when I'm too old to work. If I get away, great, I'll have enough money to get along. Worst case scenario, I'll get caught and put in prison. I'll get room & board, 3 squares a day, free health care, and at the age of 70, I won't have to worry about 'overt friendliness.'  No rent, no taxes, no government BS to deal with.
