You know, Yahoo and AOL have just the thing for the little back and forth bantering. It's called INSTANT MESSAGING. That's basically what this site is being used for lately. Inside jokes, song lyrics, two word answers - not exactly for everyone's reading enjoyment, is it?

There's a difference between posting whatever you like in the interest of free speech, and posting utter nonsense, breaking up the fluency and relevancy of the conversation at hand. It's rude and it's distracting. No one cares. No one wants to. No one thinks you're cute. You're just coming off as horribly annoying.

It's kinda like when you're trying to enjoy your absolute favorite dish. It's just been brought out to you by the waiter. Now imagine every 10 seconds someone comes to your table, asks to borrow the salt, takes a bite of your food, throws your napkins everywhere and then farts. At that point, they're not funny or endearing in any way, are they?

There is a concept amongst boards such as these, known as "Off Topic." It's natural to go off on a tangent in mid-rant, but it's unacceptable to many people when you post something totally unrelated to what's being discussed. PLEASE, think before you post.

I'm a pretty laisse faire kind of guy. And I've pretty much kept out of the petty bickering on the board, BUT.

JSpeer and MC have good points. Post anything you want, folks. Just put them in the proper bin.

I think of this forum as an extension of the show ... and if you called the show singing "Puff the Magic Dragon," I'd drop you and then mock you furiously.

Silliness has a place ... but not everywhere all the time.

While I'm speaking my peace, allow me to reiterate ... USERS ARE NOT REQUIRED TO GET A SIGN IN NAME. While I'd personally prefer it - simply for ease of following the conversation, I have the option of requiring it on the board and I chose not to ... for a reason. Callers to the show are allowed to remain anonymous. So are posters to the forum. Personally, I take anonymous calls/posts with a grain of salt ... and you are welcome to as well. BUT DO NOT BERATE PEOPLE FOR BEING ANONYMOUS.

This is meant to be a friendly board. Please keep it that way.

I guess I didn't get it all until you said that this brevity-fun-humor that you and AW were up to, helped to get you through Mother's Day. I know about your Mom and the LOOW site. Screww those heartless BasT&#rds.  I NOW UNDERSTAND completely and I think you are more my friend because of it. You keep on going ladies. I, for one, salute you both! And J: YOU DO WHATEVER you feel you got to do. For all the cute sayings that get bantered around by NONE that put their name on ANYTHING...or anyone of them...ONLY folks like you can really say that they've walked THAT mile.
