A caller today mentioned this story about Newsweek printing that the Koran was desecrated by interrogators at Guantanamo Bay.
Here's my take. If it happened and Newsweek believed its source and the source was reputable, I don't have a problem with them printing it. That's what media does. It prints the truth. The media is not responsible for the protection of the US government. If it didn't happen ... or if Newsweek was sure of it and just printed it to get a rise, then I have a real problem. It's irresponsible journalism and I can't stand irresponsibility.

I think the journalist who wrote it thought she was getting credible information. Newsweek stated the "source" had been credible in the past. The problem is that they could not prove it. Doesn't mean it wasn't true or false, just not corroborated.

Just a query...I just heard a story on the radio about a mosque that was practically destroyed by a terrorist explosive. What about all the Qurans that were incinerated? Aren't those being desecrated as well?
