President Bush Expected To Make A Stop In Rochester
President George W. Bush is expected to be in the Rochester area on Tuesday. WHAM News is getting reports the President may visit the Greece Athena Performing Arts Center to talk about social security. The Greece facility is a location that's possibly being considered because it opened just two weeks ago, it seats 1,600 people, and has state of the art sound and lighting. 13 WHAM News is reporting that local churches have been asking its members, ages 29 and younger, if they would be interested in attending a visit by the President to talk about social security. The White House will not confirm any details right now, saying that they don't release the President's weekly schedule until Friday.

Here we go again ... the GOP using organized religion as a campaign ally. Hello? IRS?

I'm sure George W will see a finger or two in Rochester ... but they'll probably be still attached and raised into the air ... one per hand.

Bush Tickets No Longer Available
by R News Staff
Published May 21, 2005

President Bush will be in the Rochester area Tuesday, but if you wanted to see him, you are out of luck. Tickets are no longer available.

A spokesperson for Congressman Tom Reynolds' office said that thousands called for tickets, but there are none left.

If you called and made it on the list in time, you will be contacted about where and when you can pick up your ticket.

Blocks of tickets were given to Greece Athena, the Rochester Business Alliance and elected officials, including the governor.

Here is a look at how the President will spend his time. He will arrive at the Rochester International Airport late morning.

He then will then travel to the Greece Athena Performing Arts Center.

That's where he will hold what is being called “A Conversation on Strengthening Social Security.”

From Greece, it is back to the airport from where Air Force One will depart.

Generally, a conversation requires that more than one person speaks. Otherwise, it'll be "A Lecture On Social Security." You can bet your nest egg that there won't be any real questions from the audience. The only time he condescends to speak with the public is to field pre-rehersed questions from approved sources. He's just going to show up, tell us how (he thinks) it is, and leave. Why bother wasting the jet fuel?
