President Bush’s televised address to the nation produced no noticeable bounce in his approval numbers, with his job approval rating slipping a point from a week ago, to 43%, in the latest Zogby International poll. And, in a sign of continuing polarization, more than two-in-five voters (42%) say they would favor impeachment proceedings if it is found the President misled the nation about his reasons for going to war with Iraq.
I'm going to shock you here ... I would oppose impeaching Bush for his FIRST TERM transgressions. They were all known at election time and he was re-elected anyway. However, if he continues to lie ... or starts new lies ... that would be reason for impeachment. Remember, Clinton wasn't impeached for fooling around with Monica. He was impeached for lying about it. So I say, don't impeach the shrub for misleading us into war. Impeach him for lying about misleading us into war.
