A recent Paul Harvey commentary said a few things that were ... odd. This is not a wives tale. I recall the commentary in question. I thought it odd at the time, but in the context given, it's downright bigoted. While I don't suggest you write ABC or call for a boycott, it might be appropriate to think about what they air ... and apparently don't air.
I can't believe he got away with saying that stuff! Don't they proof read what he says before they air it?
I would doubt that highly Joe. My commentaries aren't proofed or approved. Heck, I don't usually even know what i'm going to say until I say it. Now, I'm sure PH is a little more organized than I am, but he's probably given carte blanche. I'm equally sure that ocassionally, ABC wishes he hadn't said something, but he's usually quite responsible, so he doesn't need a babysitter.

I'd love to have Joe as a co-host. He could be my new "conservative voice." He'd just have to make sure not to stay out until 3:30 drinking the night before.
Boy you just suck all the fun out of everything. What if both of you went out drinking the night before. I'll even come drive you home so you don't have to call your wives.

Should I tell 'em, Joe? Ah, what the hell, I'm going to.
Shughes, it was an inside joke meant for me and the Speers ... and now you, too. I was referring to a real-life event that happened at the Leffler Ranch last week. Let's just say three people I know had rough mornings.
"We didn't come this far because we're made of sugar candy. Once upon a time, we elbowed our way onto and across this continent by giving smallpox-infected blankets to Native Americans. That was biological warfare. And we used every other weapon we could get our hands on to grab this land from whomever.
"And we grew prosperous. And yes, we greased the skids with the sweat of slaves. So it goes with most great nation-states, which--feeling guilty about their savage pasts--eventually civilize themselves out of business and wind up invaded and ultimately dominated by the lean, hungry up-and-coming who are not made of sugar candy." -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
i heard it too ; he never said he approved of it ,he was just stating facts , things that had happened in the past that he had no control of.
his point was that there is too much hand wringing and discussion and not enough action - he feels that fault is not one that our enemies have , most of america does not even see what is happening in the world , war is comeing and Americans play cell phone games and watch star wars .
china is about to steal unacol from us with money that we gave them , not one word of the ramifications of that here ? iran will soon have nuclear capability ? = ding ding ding , time to wake up .
i forgot this ; ask Michael Savage how long an ABC radio personality lasts after an on air racial incedent , you can measure the time in seconds but not minutes .

Pleed, Joe? That wife of yours must not be around.

And Mike ... you're right. He didn't openly endorse it ... but when you get to know PH, who I enjoy a great deal ...
despite his pregnant pauses (which give me great grief (why are we off the air)) ... you can UNDERSTAND his commentary. He was saying that we need to go back to our ruthlessness or go the way of the dodo ...
And I'd love to see you try to defend Michael "I hope you get AIDS and die" Savage. There is no appropriate place in radio for him.
