Scott's Vacation Photos ...
Permalink Closed

Actually, we took over 100 ... but here's some that I like ... and you might, too.

Scott standing in front of the "Wheatland" sign. Wheatland was the home of President James Buchanan. That's my daughter Callie behind me.

Three Mile sign. We camped about three miles from Three Mile Island. I thought Nuclear Lou would be mad if I didn't take a picture for him. See, Lou, I thought of you on vacation.

Smoke stacks of hell. You can see these babies (Three Mile Island's smoke stacks) from MILES AWAY!!! (interesting aside: My family and I play a "cow game" when we go into dairy country. You count the cows on your side of the car and whoever has the most cows at the end of the trip wins. IF you pass a white horse, you double your cows. BUT if you pass a cemetary, you lose all the cows you have. Upon seeing these smoke stacks in the distance (without knowing what they were) I told my wife that she lost all her cows cause there was a cemetery. She looked at me smartly and said, "no it isn't," to which I replied, "might as well be." Again, this is before I knew it was 3MI. Scary)

Reading copper paper. In Lancaster, there was a really cool park next to the newspaper building. And it had this statue sitting there. My wife thought it would make for a good photo. I agreed. The man is reading about the 3MI accident, by the way. Oh, and note the shirt. It reads: Congress shall make No Law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. It was a gift from a member of this board. Thanks to him.

Valley Forge. I've always had a thing for cannons. I want to put one in our front yard (for protection), but we've had some trouble finding one. And I'm not entirely sure my wife would let me.

So there ya go - my vacation. Sorry no Philly pics. Maybe later.

Good Pic.    As we have 3 of those nice plants by us.We get the people who check on some of them in the summer. The sign,we were told human error,as they are told when there is a problem ",Hands off is the motto"which they did not do.

The stacks, well take a drive,We can see them from our beach.

He also called it the drive over state,They never camp or stay over night there. They try not to use the restrooms either.

Nice photos of your vacation Scott.

For the time being, I can show you how to make a potato cannon utilizing a 10 foot length of PVC pipe, a charcoal grill starter and a can of hair spray. It would be an attractive addition to your yard, and lots of fun on those beer-infested weekend afternoons.

Make a big cannon, so we can fire Lockport politicians out of it.
