It's tragic that something so useful can be tossed away because of Bush's personal feelings. He essentially signed the death warrant for thousands of people in this country suffering from all manner of diseases, afflictions, and genetic dispositions that could be cured or reversed using stem cell research. He's worried about life being destroyed, because embryos are killed when you extract the stems cells.
Well, what about the inventory of cells we have now? Won't those just get flushed down the drain? No matter what, something's going to die. We may as well benefit from it. And we're not talking cognizant beings here, it's microscopic life. Has Bush ever stepped on a spider, or used soap? He'd be a mass murderer (if he weren't already) just for cooking his food. And won't the little embryonic souls go straight back to Heaven? We used to be the leaders in medical and technological research. Now we're held back by outdated, medieval superstition.

MC,
One of my biggest problem with my religion is that according to Dogma, the answer to your question here is a resounding "No." The stem cells haven't taken Jesus as their lord and savior and thus, will spend eternity in Hell ... again, according to Christian Dogma.
Good point MC. What exactly will happens to all the frozen embryos? Will we seeing more custody cases because someone has to take responsibility for them? The heck with science, and the fact that these cells were created by private citizens who wanted something good to come from thier own difficulties. The article does not mention anything about stem cells produced due to a live birth. Are they also off limits?

What about all the potential lives that are lost when a rocket violently kills 30 Iraqi nationals and George Bush has an orgasm in his pants? Countless families' lives have been decimated by his 'Hoily War', yet there he stands with his shorts full of little Georgies and Barbaras. Same thing happens when there's a Harry Potter book burning or someone is executed by the state. You church people need to agree on one standard at leave it at that.

Grow up! Everytime someone has a slam they post anonymous.

I don't care for anonymous slams myself, but it doesn't mean his/her point is not justified. While I wouldn't have used such candid language to express myself, Anon. makes a fine illustration of the double, triple and quadruple standards Bushies tend to have.
