It's just a matter of time until Buffalo's crime areas pick up on this little "trend". Hey if everyone's wearing the same thing, how do you ever catch the bad guy?

CLEVELAND -- Cleveland's inner city teens call it a fashion trend, while some Cleveland council members say it's a dress code among drug dealers, NewsChannel5 reported.

5 On Your Side crime beat specialist Joe Pagonakis reported that extra-long white T-shirts make it harder for police to identify suspects.

The oversized shirts are being sold by the hundreds at Cleveland gas stations.

Councilman Zach Reed said white T-shirt-wearing teens are terrorizing his neighborhood.

NewsChannel5 caught teens on camera littering the streets and one urinating in public.

"Everybody's got on white T-shirts," Reed said.

He would like inner city gas stations to stop selling the white knit shirts.

Cleveland police plan on stepping up patrols in the neighborhood.

Littering and peeing in public, but no one seen dealing drugs. Hmm... Is this the most horrible thing they could pin the blame on? White T-shirts? I'd bet 99% of Americans have a white t-shirt somewhere. This is just like trench coats being banned after Columbine. This is just more wasted effort by out-of-touch officials.


Why don't these cops and politicians try getting the public involved. Everyone on the street knows who these dealers are. And most of 'em have cel phones. Offer a small reward for tips about drug dealings and increase your patrols. Maybe even talk to the people???
