This satellite image is the approximate total area of 12 Square Miles taken by the US Army in 1942, ostensibly for the Lake Ontario Ordnance Works explosives manufacturing facility. Nine months later the storage and disposal of atomic materials began.

The complex of Lewiston-Porter School buildings can be found at the 'white-X,' located on Creek Road's east side and at the 'white-oval' Route 18 indicator sign. The Northeast's last-largest Hazardous Waste site is visible near the center with lagoons and grey-white ground scarring of landfill activities. The waste landfills are bordered by Balmer Road to the North and Porter Center Road to the East. Current military activities take place north of Balmer Road.

Just above and slightly to the right of the red indicator balloon, is where the Niagara Falls Storage Site is located containing African Uranium and K-65 Radium residue along with other radioactive materials. Slightly above the red balloon, is a vertically oriented-rectangular 'black lagoon.' Just below the 'black lagoon' is the 'G-area' where several isotopes of Plutonium and other nuclear fission products such as Cesium have been detected in the soils.

According to the US Army Corps of Engineers, tests have revealed off-site creek and stream contamination. Some roads and irrigation ditches in this satellite image can be seen as light gray lines. Other roads are colored and labeled.

No, the $1 land sale was from Hooker Chemical to the City of Niagara Falls so they could build 99th street school adjacent to Love Canal

I think there are at least 3 school property deals in Niagara County that were bought for $1. Love Canal, Royalton-Hartland and Lewport. Does anyone know of any more?

Seems like the exact same thing to me...what's the disagreement anon? Niagara Falls schools aren't Niagara County schools? Why don't you read the whole thread, take a little time to think on it and then post?
