Personally, I don't care that much about Ms. Sheehan. She has valid points, but seems a little ... shall we say ... overzealous. But there is one thing about this story that bothers me. What she's being charged with.
Sgt. Scott Fear, spokesman for the U.S. Park Police, said they would be charged with demonstrating without a permit, which is a misdemeanor.
Why do we need a permit to protest? What's up with "free speech zones?" This bother anyone else?
It's a common ploy municipalities use to regulate our 'freedoms.' Sure, you have total freedom to protest whatever you want--as long as we say you can.
That's not freedom, it's "Mommy, May I?"

Sgt. Fear!?! Whoa, I just soiled myself!
These big marches in DC always get permits for their activities. I heard on the radio that Sheehan parked herself on the curb, which every veteran protestor knows you can't do, you have to keep moving. She must have wanted to get arrested.
