Now, I am not anti military, but I went to Rolling stone.com yesterday, just to look at new CD reviews, and all of these military recruit pop ups started coming up...is our military desperate enough to attempt to recruit people this way? I mean it was, like all branches of the military, and geez, I'm old...I wonder what they'd do if I enlisted?

In addition to lowering their standards, the military has had to resort to drastic steps to maintain their satisfactory recruitment numbers. They 'invade' every facet of life a 15-21 year old might be. They are on college AND high school campuses, MTV, malls, youth centers, even concerts. Now they have commercials with talking points to use against the parents.
