Rep. Brian Higgins, D-Buffalo, and officials from the New York Power Authority will take part in a forum on the relicensing of the Niagara Power Project Nov. 22 at WNED-TV studios, 140 Lower Terrace, Buffalo.
Scott, I appreciate this information about the face-off tomorrow night which I didn't know about. I'll have to catch it at 2:30 AM since I'm busy then.
Since the license application was submitted to FERC this summer and it's doubtful the Bush administration will turn down Pataki's NYPA under any circumstances, especially when you consider that Pataki raised $7 million for Bush's re-election campaign, Higgins and all the me-too town boards and school boards out here in land-locked Niagara County are challenging the Power Authority for purposes of posturing and shadow-boxing.
It's sad that hundreds of millions of dollars, that could have been at our disposal, are now gone forever thanks to the lack of leadership of our local politicians, except those close to Pataki, who are merely opportunistic crooks.
