Yesterday, Rep. John Murtha (D-PA) put forth a resolution calling on the US to withdraw troops from Iraq "at the earliest practicable date."
Of course, the GOP has no interest in EVER leaving Iraq, so they squashed it like a bug and beat their warmongering chests.
Now they've turned the tables, putting forth their own resolution calling for "the deployment of United States forces in Iraq be terminated immediately."
Dems feel that wording is too strong and are whining that the GOP has behaved badly.
Here's the thing. The Dems are so pathetic they're too timid to oppose war. They're afraid to look afraid of the GOP. And so they just look weak and frail.
Be for the war. Be against the war. Stand for something for Christ's sake. I'm so sick of the Democrats doing their best interpretation of Moses in the desert - wandering aimlessly - hoping God will take them to the promised land instead of just using friggin' mapquest and finding their way.
Once again, the Republican leadership in the house has out-flanked and out-maneuvered the Dems. And the Dems just look stupid. *sigh*
in the media and press the left has been beating on the right for some time now and the right has not defended itself , someone in the adminstration has switched from their duties long enough to allow return fire , it is long over due .
This is exactly the kind of crap that makes me want to change my affiliation. But, it sort of is the first sembelance of even attempting to stand up to the GOP I've seen. But they have become increasingly spineless. John Kerry wouldn't stand up to the swift boat allegations, and he lost the election, for looking like a one celled organism most of the time. Well, that and Theresa didn't help much, I would imagine.
But, on the flip side, the GOP look like fools more and more, like little rich spoiled brats. Sorry to oversimplify. And if I hear George Bush say "Stay the course" one more time, I am going to puke. The only thing his speeches are good for, in my opinion, are drinking games.

Ooo, ooo, ah, ah, screech, etc. (sorry, those are my best monkey noises.) Actually, I hate monkeys. They give me creeps. Come to think of it, so does George Bush!
