Most of the absentee ballots have been counted. There are only 18 left to count. And Harry Apolito has a 9 vote lead in the 15th Legislative District. Assuming all ballots are opened, Scott Cercone would need 14 of them to have his name on them to win. So he has "conceded," which legally means nothing - but essentially means he congratulated Harry and acknowled that Apolito won.

Scott was a great alderman. I was sorry to see him get mixed up in this dirty politicking. Frankly, though, I'm glad it didn't work.

I am half asleep and I read the thread title, amd I could have sworn it said "Aronow concedes..." Then I rubbed my eyes and saw the real title. Darn.

I don't think theres been a close race like scott and harry has had in a long while. It's good to see!
