Do Not Call information

this is culled from an e mail from my brother in law , an employee of a phone company .

"JUST A REMINDER....31 days from today, all cell phone numbers are being
released to telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sale
calls. ..YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS...
To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone:
888-382-1222. It is the National DO NOT CALL list. It will only take a
minute of your time. It blocks your number for five (5) years.

It is even easier to log onto http://donotcall.gov to do it online! It takes about
ONE MINUTE!!

Do your home and cell phones. You can also do phone numbers for family members that don't have access to the internet or may be unsure of what to do."

I've gotten this also.
Releasing my cell phone number would be a violation of my service providers privacy agreement & would void my cell phone contract.
I actually wouldn't mind that so much

According to the federal trade commision website there is no compiled list of cell numbers.
Also, it is against the law to call a cell phone with an auto dialer.
Most telemarketers only have auto dialers & couple that with no viable list of cell numbers you shouldn't have to worry, too much.

It's a good idea anyway to put it on the list because everytime you give a company your cell number to contact you (adelphia for example kept calling my cell to sell me more services until I told them to stop) it could be out there.
