Personally, I can understand people's fears regarding sex offendors. However, the mass media loves stuff like this to report on because it's SAFE for them to get all fired up over. Real news requires sticking your neck out to expose the big stories and dirt on people who can fight back. Child molesters, rapists and freaks are easy marks, they can't mount a serious defense , so why not go for the easy story?

Middle america just eats this stuff up , instead of asking the real questions. If the current high mark on gas and oil prices is due to middle eastern problems and hurricanes in the gulf, why has oil had it's biggest profit ever in a quarter, let alone the highest profit EVER from ANY company?

I think the big oil companies have intentionally limited refining capacity in an attempt to keep profits artificially high. This can be accomplished due to the flurry of recent merger activity. The smaller companies that could increase capacity have not done so in fear of being gobbled up by their larger rivals.

But you know what? some person whom has already paid their "debt to society" , served their time etc... will be hounded till their dying day by a bunch of antsy right wing soccer moms....
