OK, since I can't listen to the show live, I can't call in. I am confined to listen to the podcasts which means I get to listen to the show a day or so late. So, here is where I will post all my opinions on a show that's a day old.

THURSDAY, MARCH 2

-Throwing away your garbage can. If it's plastic, which it probably is, take a razor, or tin snips, and slice it into managable pieces, and dump it into the new can. If it's metal, use a sledge hammer to smash it into submission. Don't forget your safety glasses and some mood music (Disturbed or Ministry comes to mind.

-Bill of Rights. I memorized the first amendment years ago, I could also rattle off 8 of the remaining 9. I consider those the most important. The other 2 dozen amendments, I have no clue except maybe the biggies, like abolition.

-Aryan newsletters. Their rights to free speech are guaranteed in said 1st amendment. However, it does not guarantee that we have to listen, or even pay attention to them.

Poisonous fish eggs. This sounds like a case of CYOA. The local officials seem to be concerned just with themselves and figure a warning sign will admonish them of any responsibility. And of course they think we're stupid. We voted them in, right?

People seem to be relying on golf to save the area, bring tourism, etc. This is a bad idea. For one thing, it's seasonal. The PGA ghoes to courses in Alabama and California for a reason. It's always warm and the grass is naturally green. If someone wants to build more golf courses, make it an indoor, miniature gold course.

I think the reverse-bidding for government jobs an a fine idea. Anyone who is eligible should be able to submit a bid, lowest one wins. Just like the govt. chooses it's private contractors. It's fair, will save money and maybe even cut back on the nepotism NY has.

I think it's clear that the Superintendent Salary issue is not just the fault of the board and the people in these position, it's mostly the residents' fault, only because they continue to accept it. They eat what they are given and it's not a tasty meal...

Joe from Sanborn brought up a topic that deserves a short rant. The railroad tracks are deplorable by most standards. If your car sustains damage purely because of the condition of the road, the state should pay to have it fixed. That might be incentive to keep the roads in drivable condition. I've had my alignment thrown out twice by potholes alone. That's not cheap to fix. How many alignments does it take to equal the cost of filling a pothole?

Let's get some of those teen bands on the Friday interview.

Canada is a foreign country. Friendly or not, everyone should have to show a passport to make that border crossing. I don't think they should have to cost $100 a pop. That's insane.

Just like Clinton is continuing his shenanigans after leaving office, I'm sure Bush will continue to lie, cheat, ignore important things and clear the never-ending brush. I'm sure Clinton sees the poetic irony of his job-posting.

The Interview with the resident book critic Emily was quite insightful. She has an excellent grasp on reality vs. fiction. She is able to recognize the correlation to fictional stories and how they relate to (or reflect) real life. Maybe one interview a week could be a school-age child, or several of them, and see what they think about current events, pop culture, etc.
