"It came without ribbons!"

"It came without tags!"

"It came without packages, boxes or bags!"

Ever since I was a kid at George Southard elementary, I've loved Dr. Suess. Somehow he had a direct connection to the imagination of a youngster.

"Green Eggs and Ham" and "Horton hears a Who" probably unleashed more imaginations than any Saturday morning cartoon or Disney movie.

And who can forget "I am the Lorax. I speak for the trees. I speak for the trees, for the trees have no tongues". Wish that every child in the world would be read this story by a parent that cares about the world they are passing along.

On doctors feeling good and siwwe-wittew-wabbits.

"I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date."  (I must be there by six tonight).

And from Le Petit Prince:

"But why do you drink sir?" Asked the Little Prince. To which the Tippler replied, "why I drink to forget." The Little Prince asked "And what is it you wish to forget?"

"I wish to forget that I drink" replied he!

Seuss ain't got nothing on St-Exupéry or Carroll. Much better lessons for children. Reality based reality should be the rule.

Now THIS IS IMAGINATION, lessons for growth, maturation and inner self happiness for all those that are young at heart--

MORAL LESSON: Don't drink or do drugs--you could end up seeing rabbits and talking to drunks.

Most of Suess' stories were based in reality, much like Gene Roddenberry or Stan Lee, his unrealistic tales touched on very real and very serious social issues like racism, big government, oppression, cultural divisions, the environment, even war, and included many moral lessons.

"The time has come,' the walrus said, 'to speak of little things, Of ships and shoes and sealing wax, of cabbages & kings." -- Carrol
