I hope you didn't bet the farm on me knowing all about you. You really missed your mark on Lou. He speaks very highly of all the groups in NC, if there is a personal issue between you I didn't hear it from him. I do know the key players, but from my own involvement. I will go out on a limb and say we have probably met. I know we have exchanged a few emails in the past. I am confident we have attended some of the same functions. I would be the quiet one who is trying not to miss the the interaction between different groups, while still trying to pay attention. I was the one standing off to the back with my kids at Lois Gibbs old house, because she personally asked me to come. I am only going to ask one thing of you, please don't judge me by assumption. My involvement goes back several years. I don't live in your corner of the county, but still speak of your issues when they might have a positive impact on your school. Just to clear up any missunderstanding before hand. This is not an attack on you, I'm just bringing you up to speed on me.
Not true, you do belong here. Just please don't judge any poster, keep an open mind and I'm sure you will gain some important info. Disagree to you hearts content, but all of us, me included, need to keep it civil.

see in the newest readers digest , an article about a small town in idaho dealing with radioactive fallout from testing in and around the 50s and 60s? and their stradegy in dealing with the cancer and death that resulted . how is it that idaho and utah are haveing some limited sucsess with their problems and the loow site is .... not , maybe not enough noise or .....
i can not link it as they did not post it to their web site .
For more info on Downwinder issues, and YES, we ARE ALL Downwinders because we've all lived due downwind of one nuclear facility or dump site or another here in Niagara, the County once beautiful.
thats really something ; look how much activity Lou found out in utah / idaho . related to this . has anyone seen the cdc statistics for cancer incedence and mortality for that / those areas ? as compared to new york / niagara county area . (which are incorrectly below the national average)
its kinda embarrassing , they have lottsa people and government involved - this area has a few people on scattered blogs .....
As I was looking at some truth over there , I saw in another place, something also called truth. It was here on this page. So, to be helpful, I brought that truth over here where it seemed proper to be associated with this thread link. So here's some of that truth from over in that other place--
> There is a public statement in which one official US Army Corps of Engineers-Buffalo District > > scientist and spokesperson is quoted as stating that the above mentioned survey detected
>"no levels of radiation that would be expected to cause harm.."
> But yet, this exact same spo0kesperson in sworn court room testimony, stated something quite >
> different: "those that lived within one mile of the old silo should be in fear for their lives."
engineering fact--the schools are only a bit more than a mile or so away!
Have youu checked out the planning boards web site? The original planning report is still posted. you really have to look for it. It would seem that they didn't like the first study so they bought a new one. The new one is very easy to find. Go check it out for yourself, you shouldn't take my word for it. This is the report that says the school should be moved ASAP. AW
Hi there AW: Can you post a link or give an address for Both of the planning department plans, old and new. I'd like to see what's going on there too! Thanks,
...The contamination site poses threats to the students of Lewiston-Porter Central, with contaminated water recently discovered on the site and being recently reported in the newspaper. Taken from the website US ARMY CORPS LOOW/RAB51 meeting minutes, they clearly stated that the soils from the walleye ponds area are contaminated.6
The Lewiston-Porter school located on the Lake Ontario Ordinance Works must be relocated, because of its location and the possible threats that it poses to the students that attend this school. The establishment of a new school district encompassing the whole Town of Porter will help accomplish a better school connection between Youngstown and Ransomville; this will help to foster a sense of unity that is currently lacking.
Before conducting any further projects in the Town of Porter, there should be a comprehensive study of the risks that contaminated sites have on human health and the environment. The ground water and soils should also be studied to make sure that they don't contain any contaminations. Immediate action should be taken concerning the Lewiston-Porter campus. We recommend the relocation of the school. No land use decisions should take place until the comprehensive contamination and health risks study is performed and decisions should take place accordingly
So the lady with the grant of 500,000 should take some of that money and empty a walleye pond.Test the soil below it,also ground water,Dig a little deeper to the spring that feeds the ponds and test that,You could test a walleye here and there. But I would think they put chimals to make them nice and pretty.Scarlet Letter
the powers that be seak input from the public [thats us ] - concerning acceptable amounts of of ionizing radiation absorbed by people in the work place . i am sure Nuclear Lou can provide some guidance about what amounts are acceptable , of course , zero is the best amount for the workers . or maybe a little less ...
if people like us do not contact these guys - there will be no changes for the better , and we will have no one to blame but ourselves .

Since anonymous was talking about economic development, zoning ordinances and morality, I just thought it's a good idea to remind anonymous of what is around here to be so very proud and protective of.
