Let me start by saying that Terry Shaw is a pompous ---.
Okay - with that out of the way, his column in Monday's US&J (sorry not in the online edition, so I can't link it) is very good. It deals with the floundering congressman we're stuck with (Tom Reynolds) and the man who wants his job (Jack Davis).
The column - found on 6A across the bottom - is short on opinion, but that's okay with me. I don't really want Shaw's opinion (refer to first line).
Basically it alludes to the fact that Jack is running again (something I've yet to confirm) and talks about the fact that Reynolds should be afraid - be very afraid.
The best part though, is a quote from Congressman Tom himself. Talking about needing to get more jobs in this area, Reynolds says, "I have a son who works in Missouri and a daughter who works in Washington because that's where the jobs are."
If ever there was a quote that should end up in a Jack Davis for Congress commercial, that's it.
Not to be outdone, Jack has a quote of his own: "I am Tom Reynolds' worst nightmare."
For more on Reynolds, check his web site. Sorry, no podcasts with Tom. Hasn't been on since Oct. 17th, 2003 ... and the podcast archives just don't go back that far. But we did do a show on his stance on Social Security on April 19th.
Ok, I have a few ideas for this link. But for now I think we should flood this web site with issues. He says that's what he's here for, let's see how well he does his job! But I have to ask why does he need a social security number to help?
It is often possible for my staff to assist in resolving problems you may encounter with federal agencies. While I cannot compel an agency to act in your favor, I can inquire as to the status of your case and seek a resolution to your problem.
Areas in which I can provide support include:
Military and Veterans' Affairs
Social Security and Medicare
Passports and Immigration
Small Business Concerns
Internal Revenue Service
Housing
Student Loan Repayments
Federal Retirement Benefits
Please contact either my Williamsville or Greece office for assistance with your problem. When calling or writing please include the following in your communication:
Your name
Your address
Your phone number
Your Social Security number
The name of the specific agency
The nature of the problem
The desired outcome
I am pleased to offer you the opportunity to open a case online. If you choose, you can speed up the handling of your case by filling out a form that my staff will review. If you choose to contact my district staff directly, they will send you forms which need to be completed to allow the relevant agency to release information to my staff. Once my office has your written request we can begin working on your case.
