I would think that calling in sick would be in order if you work near this site. The news on 7 this morning made no mention of the history of this warehouse.

On April 15, 2003, a fire occured in a building on Chandler Street between Military Road and Elmwood Avenue. A business called Pharr was lost in the blaze. This business made woven products in the same location where woven materials were made for the Manhattan A-bomb Project. Buffalo fire department Engine -?? - responded twice...second X for a restart.

Kevin Gaughan Enters Buffalo Mayoral Race

Buffalo, NY (WBEN) - With an abandoned industrial site as a backdrop, local attorney and regionalism proponent Kevin Gaughan has announced his candidacy for Mayor of Buffalo.

Gaughan tells NewsRadio 930 WBEN "It's time to wake up Buffalo and shake up our government. Our long, dark twilight is over, and together we can make the sun rise on Buffalo again."

Gaughan's slogan, "They've had their chance, now its Gaughan" is a play on the city's economic condition and his call to get rid of the entrenched politicians he blames for the the city's woes.

Gaughan says he will be running an an Independent candidate.

I edited the offending post down to what I assume the poster wanted us to see. I'm going to go under the assumption that the person wasn't trying to promote WBEN, but instead wanted to get this point across.

so ; what is happening with the run off from the fire hoses .... it seems reasonable to expect if that site has contaminated residue that some of the residue will be washed off in the run off from the hoses into the drains and or ? that may be around , not to mention the airborne particles carried off in the smoke and or steam ....


   are the fire people aware ?   of what they were dealing with ?
