Some municipalities put Adult uses in Special Zoning Districts. Then the land where these zoning districts are located have no electrical, sewer or water. And the soil is of such poor quality that it would be extremely difficult to put in a water supply well, and a septic system that would be approved by the Health Department.

Good way to keep this business out of your town.

INTERESTINGLY--You just described to a "T" the area around the Lake Ontario Ordnance Works Site, only a mile from Lewiston-Porter Schools and only a couple from the Lake and Niagara River. Ironic isn't it?

Hey anonymous -- Would this same tactic be applicable to, say a waste landfill site?

Or, what about a business that long ago left trash behind...how do you suggest we stop that? What if that business was a sloppy military and early nuclear industry? Any thoughts? Since you have many, many suggestions and opinions, how about offering just one solution. Oh, I know, you'll just drift away for a while, instead of engaging, and then you'll pop up again at some future date, I'm sure.

If a key chain souvenir costs the store $1.45, how much would the key chain cost if the souvenir store was making it's "key"? What is the typical "key" for a souvenir store? What's a "step-on"? What's the NYSHMRA? What was ITHRA? In the tourism industry, what is a flag? How high are the Falls of Niagara? Who was the first person to survive the plunge over the Falls in a barrel? In another language, what does the word Chutes mean? If I had a tourist visa from South Korea and went from the US into Canada, would I be able to return to the US side of the Falls? What is a serviette? What is Ride Niagara? How long is the helicopter ride? What was the first promotional agency for Niagara tourism called? How long does it take for the Maid of the Mist to go from the US dock to the Canadian dock?

Hey Mr. Lou,

Please... I implore you - take a breath and talk and have a dialog instead of needing to prove yourself. You are talking to two differnet people, as I never made the zoning comment you are now certain I made. I admit to knowing nothing about what this other poster bought up regarding zoning these types of businesses. I once again continue my insistance in saying I don't care about and never did discuss the morality of this, but was merely joining a discusion based on the business and tax merits as being discussed in the thread. But, perhaps "discusion" is not what "Dialog" is about. If so I will look elsewhere.

But for whatever reasons you have (and this is what totally escapes me) you pounced quickly on my first post here - that was as politely stated as could be and were clearly labled as totally my opinions. You then continued to make broad erroneous deductions about me based on things that were never said, inferred or implied - and then purposely misquoted and belittled my point of view, whom I must be - the laughed off as insignificant whatever involvment I hold dear in supporting environmental issues. Why be so unwilling to let people make comments without taking the oportunity of spiralling it all back to your obvious speciality of environmental research - which I NEVER even brought up in my original post which was about legalized prostitution.

Which leads me to ask... "why the thin skin" when all I was doing was adding dialog to the thoughts you presented and NEVER attacked you or belittled you until you came crashing down on me for some unknowable reason. I never wish to engage you or ANYONE in the volotile matter that we slipped into... and therefore I apologize for my returned vollies.

Why keep insisting my view had to be based on morality, in SPITE of my initial and continued insistence that any comments I made or any point I interjected were based not at all on any moral standing? You immedaitely and continue to mark me as "Mr. Morality" and immediately offered to debate my pants off and then intantaneously got sidetracked on a diatribe about some new dangers of toxic waste and land mis-management issues... which I tend to agree with you about and AM in fact very concerned about.

Every opinion I make is never offered as "the final truth" as I abhor the arrogance of all knowing, sweeping generalizations about all people, their beliefs or the worth of their opinions. I humbly suggest that the need to "debate someones pants off" is perhaps not creating the most healthy environment (no pun intended) for shared ideas and seeking commonality or a resolution to any problem.

I guess my sentence structure REALLY must be bad. This was pointed out by Government Responsible for Residents' own Mr. Paul Mokhiber, Ralph Nader's Niagara Falls cousin, with the below email back to me. Aren't elections still by secret ballot? Do donations to charity require a name & address before they are accepted? Anonymity does not reduce the power of one's words or actions. Nobody knows who said "All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights," but that didn't keep it out of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948. That phrase would be no more true than if Winston Churchill said it, and no less true if a drug addict on Genesee St. coined the phrase.

Maybe people still post here anonomously because they fear a 2-page attack by someone who jumps the gun and makes assumptions. Maybe they just want to voice their opinion and avoid the harsh responses some people give. I won't name names, I'll let the thin-skinned people I speak of remain anonymous.
