According to a story in Business First, our governor, George Pataki is among the bottom of the trash heap when it comes to governor popularity.

Here's the story

Personally, I think Pataki is a coward and a liar. He may have started out good ... but he changed quickly. He ran as the man who wanted to change the tax and spend tactics of then-governor Cuomo ... only to out tax and out spend Cuomo.

He has the bully pulpit. He could really change public opinion and get the state to rally against the Assembly and the Senate to do his will ... which we thought was to lower taxes and stop all the Albany crap ... but maybe his will is to just keep getting elected.

And, of course, there's talk that he may run for President. Man, I'd hate to see that happen.

So what do you all think of the middle man in our little George triumverate?

i think you should like George P. , he sold himself as a conservative and then switched quietly in the middle of the show and became a demoncrat or even worse ....   which is something you should like , why denigrate  him for adopting some of your own veiws ?

and the word "coward" is a strong word - ?  why choose that word ?

all politicians seem to have a knack for being at least a litte bit of a liar ....

i would not like to see him as president either .... for different reasons .

I'd rather see an 'average person' get voted in, just to see how they'd do.

MotM, apparently, you've never heard the show? I'm not the liberal some would paint me as ... and I'm not a big fan of anyone who runs on a platform and then switches after winning.

Pataki's a coward, BTW, because he hides from public view and public scrutiny. Rather than fess up for the mistakes he's made, he tries to pin it on Sheldon Silver. Granted, Shelly's horrible ... but Republicans act as though he's the only person in NYS with any power.
