Terror, Bush, & the News, Oh My!
Permalink Closed

Sooooo, in the beginning of the week, an unknown aircraft breeched not only U.S. airspace, but the no-fly zone in Washington D.C., our nations CAPITAL. This aircraft was within spitting distance of dropping a bomb on what our Nintendo pilots call a 'target rich environment.' (The Capitol bldg., the white house, Pentagon, Smithsonians, countless monuments, and other security agencies.) The White House, along with select important buildings were hastily, even clumsily evacuated. The news was all over this from the time it happened until the end of the day.

Has anyone head anything since?

Nope, it's been pretty quiet. Where's the story about our deficient monitoring systems? Where's the interview with these misguided Cessna enthusiasts? Where's the investigation into the shoddy preparedness of govt. officials? Where's the report on how inneffective our security mesures have become SINCE 9/11. And while we're at it, where's the latest terror alert, and why aren't they questioning the fact that every time Kerry kissed a baby during the elections, the threat escalated, and since Bush won, we haven't had a single terror alert in 7 months?

I just find it annoying that a dumbass like the runaway bride is put on a broadcast loop on national news for a week, and a breech of national security is barely covered.

They are too embarrassed to mention it! I for one am shocked that it happened. If we can't even protect our capital then how safe are we in Niagara Falls and the surrounding areas? I bet the agreement is that the pilot keeps his mouth shut about the whole thing, and we can go back to thinking we are untouchable.

I haven't seen anything in the news about that either. I remember when a plane landed in the Red Square it was in the news for a month. and that's not even our country.

I'd like to know why, three years after 911, are we not prepared with even the basics like evacuation drills, and radar near the capital?

Can history repeat itself? Lets all hope not. I thought 911 was a wake up call.
