ok flamesuit on , engine idleing , no boost on turbo .
accept at my place of business i dont tell people what to do or how to do it . i dont want to carry any balls across any line , i dont even see any reason to put my name anywhere near the ball , i see a problem , i am going to do what i can to rectify it , enough said .
and here a follow up a year later , only somehow now the elevated cancer risk ONLY for young women in the niagara county / erie county area can be attributed ONLY to exposure to a certain hydrocarbon family associated with exhaust from cars ? of course that would not explain why only local young women would be affected by emmisions from "traffic" and not the young women scattered across America exposed to the same problem . http://www.sciencedaily.com/print.php?url=/releases/2005/04/050430103616.htm
working with cars , and emmisions , in my experience newer cars made after 10 years ago have under .5% emmisions of HC of all types and the same or less of emmisions of CO carbon Monoxide , about 15% CO2 and idleing in traffic about 0% on NOX of all types . newer cars at idle effectivly have 0 emmisions of all types EXCEPT CO2 , cars with less than 15% CO2 probobly have a bad catalytic converter .... or a big hole in the exhaust before where the sample probe is , HC, Hydro Carbon emmisions in any case will be right about 0 idling in traffic .
i agree with the findings of article a , disagree with article b , having said that it looks like UB is actively doing medical studies in the area . now . so i who has little to no expertise on this kind of thing wonder how the experts came to that conclusion .
this simple question i will ask of the NF gazette editorial page . corrections are invited before i launch it .
Anonymous wrote: Sorrry, Don't trust those studies. More junk science, huh?
no not quite - allow me to connect the dots - the first article / study did show that there is an increased amount of breast cancer present in women that lived through puberty as residents of niagara or erie county , that alone is very significant .
the 2nd study / article used the first and attempted to identify a cause for the results shown in the first . i believe they did not fulfill their mission , most residents of the areas could also come up with a few other things around locally that may cause cancer and come to the conclusion that any one of those things or a combination of them is the real , cause of the increased cancer . to be fair to the people at UB the 2nd study / article , would be extremely difficult to perform considering all of the variables present in the "experiment" . and it was / is the responsebility of CDC and NYS DOH to identify and repair the cause of the problem identified in article / study #1. not the responsibility of UB.
we do not want to invalidate the studies and attempts of UB , they are human , some of their people have more skill than others . some of the students performing the grunt work are more motivated than others .... and UB completed the study for the Town of Porter along with the recomendations in it - invalidating that study or the work of UB will not help the cause at all .
study / article #1 is the important one , and the unanswered questions indirectly asked by the very existence of that set of data really need to be addressed -
By a government agency with the authority and means to resolve the problem . like CDC or NYS DOH .
again , an open invitation to show myself that i have made a mistake in selecting this to begin with . like something that may invalidate study / article #1 that i dont know of ? fire away , i have thick skin .
Not that this has to do with niagara county,But watch and listen how it says the health dept.says flys will not hurt anything, what about the peticides to kill them,Do flys not carry germs.
Woman Still Missing Last Update: 6/3/2005 3:39:01 PM
There's new information tonight on the search for a missing Chittenango woman. Police have what they call a "person of interest."
33-year-old Lori Leonard has been missing for almost a month now. She disappeared on May 4th after dropping her children off at a relative's house. She was headed to the Albany area, but never made it there. The reward for finding her has been upped to $8,500.
Chittenango police are now looking for a late model silver Dodge Dakota. They believe the truck maybe have been driven from Chittenango on the day Lori disappeared. Police have identified the driver as a white male, in his 20's or 30's.
SO THAT"S where Re: ALL In this togther comes from!!

Flies Infest Properties Last Update: 6/4/2005 12:37:50 AM
A Groton man has become a lord of the flies, of sorts, near the Cortland village. But it's not by choice. Hundreds of thousands of flies are covering Gene Viscotha's home, barns, and pretty much everything else on his property. He says in the thirteen years he's lived on at the property, he's never had the problem before. The swarm is spreading, also affecting several neighbors.
No Tickets for Bud Saving Attempt Last Update: 6/3/2005 3:39:02 PM
6/3/05
The DEC backs off penalizing anyone for the fires set to save apple buds in Lafayette.
You might remember that huge plume of smoke over downtown Syracuse a few weeks ago. It was coming from apple farms south of the city, trying to protect their crops from the freeze. Apparently, some people complained to the Department of Environmental Conservation about the smoke. But the DEC says it will not be issuing tickets to the farmers for the fire, because farms are exempt from certain "burning" rules.
The DEC says if someone who had been directly affected by the smoke actually complained, their decision might have been different.

Some Central New York apple growers could be facing fines, in a fight to save their crops, that was only partly successful. Beak and Skiff tells us it lost 30 to 40 percent, despite burning fuel in barrels around the orchard all night, to prevent blossoms from freezing.
The DEC will be meeting in the next couple of weeks to determine if it should issue tickets to apple growers, for possible violations of air quality standards. The DEC is checking out reports that Beak and Skiff and possibly other LaFayette apple orchards were burning tires to save the apple blossoms that will become this fall's crop.
The smoke from their fires was seen by thousands of Central New Yorkers driving to work Friday morning.
Ag Research Center Selling Off Reference Library Last Update: 6/3/2005 6:29:47 AM
(Ithaca, NY) AP 06/03/05 -- Collectors of plant books will have a chance to get their hands on some rare old reference texts this weekend.
The Boyce Thompson Institute for Plant Research in Ithaca is holding a book sale to clear out its reference library.
Boyce Thompson has been one of the nation's premier agricultural research centers over its 80-year history. The 2,000 titles being sold at auction Sunday include both the scarce and useful but few books of any real worth.
There's the landmark "Nomenclator Zoologicus" from 1882 and its 1902 two-volume supplement, "Index Zoologicus." They list all names that have been used by naturalists for recent and fossil animals from the earliest times.
David Hall, whose Central New York Book Auctions is running the sale, said the event will likely draw interest only from people in the related fields and those who want to support Boyce Thompson.

On way to Fabius-Pompey high school for tractor day young boy dies in strange farm cult ritual.
Police say he was driving his tractor down a steep hill around 1:00am. Gasoline or diesel fuel may have been involved with this prom season cult farm activity. He picked up speed, (and a six) tried to pass an ATV (to impress the also dumb little girl),The tractor spun out of control on blue oysters and skidded nearly twenty two thousand feet into a ravine behind the now closed K-Mart, spokesperson Jennifer Lyer said.
The driver of the ATV, a girl, was not hurt . Gaylord Dumbhardton, the teen boy race tractor driver was SKYLIFted to heaven.

This is so wierd, does any one know where they came from? "Shew fly don't bother me..." I think you should find the fly paper in isle 3 with the seasonal items annon.
Ok ,so you do not play nice. Not good at all.It shows how grown up you are.....I will let it rest at that....FOR JUST AWHILE....the map thing,I do not even have words for it.
"Officials admit that the situation with flies in the soup could get worse."
The people responsible for the fly infestation had promised officials earlier that they "would clean up their act," and because the home owner did not follow through on promises made to officials, other actions are pending.
Just finished reading some of your posts. Some of you have a good focus on the issues but you need to work together. Unless your a politician, one voice is not enough. My parents always told me that "actions speak louder than words".
Since Niagara County has over 100 superfund sites and some of the most problematic schools, you would get more done if you did not focus on just one school, but all the school's that are having problems. Children and staff - past and present.
We have several boisterous parents in Niagara County. Maybe someone should attend that public meeting being held in Pendleton on June 14th, 2005 (See the calendar and note the corrected date from 6/17 to 6/14). These people from Starpoint don't seem to take the problems at their school for face value. Maybe because the NCHD is involved or are they!!
Where are the parents. You would think that they would be hopping mad.
Question: Who is dangling the carrot and who is chasing it?
The flies have nothing to do with the east bay area, you should stop changing the stories, the one about the prom was horriable, and it never happned the way you said it did.
