Public Hearing on Mt. View (ad hoc)
Permalink Closed

Rich Elision, Margie Swan and Don Hobel of the  Concerned Niagara County Taxpayer's Association, Inc. have been good enought to sponsor a Public Hearing on June 6th. 7:00 PM at Lockport City Hall, Main St. Lockport.   This is the Public Hearing all the 'Maziarz Majority Caucus' County Legislators wouldn't have as Malcolm Needler, their majority leader commented it "slows down Government".

I applaud these people for giving the public an opportunity to speak on this issue.  My comments have been submitted in writing and will be read at the hearing if time permits.

It's nice to see the faceless is an equal opportuntiy basher. A negative comment for one and all. I have never met Don, but have talked with him on the phone. I found him to be extremely knowledgable and helpful. Oh, I'm sorry faceless one, I didn't mean to confuse you with facts. I still think you should go back to the fruity wine or was it whine.

Thanks for the response, 'Always watching'

I have known Don Hobel since we both opposed the County Charter referendum that would have given Niagara County a County Executive (like Joel Giambra).  He does very thorough research on topics that concern him.

People that want just short 'talking point' answers that feed their emotions do not necessarily like listening to Don. (I call people like that simple minded.)

I had worked with Don before and even though I may disagree with some things he says, he does raise interesting and substantive points.

God bless people like Don and his colleagues for wanting to allow people the opportunity to express their views in important issues like the sale of MT. View.

Also, for people who leave anonymous messages, their level of credibility seems diminished.

No thanks needed, anyone who does as much research as Don has to be one of the good guys. You said that much better than I could have.

This should be a must attend meeting for all those who feel taxes are out of control. Hey Jim, you've been a member for a while now. How come you don't join in on other topics?

When I get a chance, I like to review Scott's forum.  Life is extremely hectic for me this time of year between my responsibilities for work and my family.  I'd love to respond more if I could find the time.

Due to my job, and appointed positions I have, I attempt to keep my responses very well defined.  I think other topics are very interesting to read, but do not believe it is appropriate for me to respond, at least right now given my current situation.

I am thinking of a new topic with recent developments regarding Mt. View and will post that soon (I hope).

Right now it is 6:30 am on Saturday morning.  I am awake now, so I am going outside to run 4 miles.  Then I will come home and attempt to get some work done outside (weed the garden) before we take some of our kids to their softball game later this morning.

         Have a good day.
