Hello Jim Sacco!  (Of Pendleton, NY)

I want to say hello. My parents owned property from the 1930s until the 1990 in the town of Niagara and ran a small business there right up until about 1990.

Are you the ex-town supervisor there or are you related to that James Sacco. I noticed somewhere the Jr., Sr. thing... The reason that I ask is that I remember that fellow from long ago and always wondered what happened to him after he left Town of Niagara-County politics. Wasn't he/you the Democratic chairman of the Town or County or some such--a legislator perhaps?

With comments about current County  politics and Mt. View, I thought there was a connection(?)

As a lifetime Niagara County resident, I just wanted to say hey-hello and ask that question--I hope you didn't mind.

Regards,
Louis Ricciuti

Lewiston 2, NY

(do you remember when that was the postal designation?)

Lou,

You are on the right track.  Jimmy Sacco from the Town of Niagara is my father.  He still lives on Ralph Ct. with his wife Sharon.  They are both retired.

If you were to see my father anywhere, it would probably be at the Seneca Niagara Casino.

I am his oldest son and had lived in Albany for about 14 years before moving back to Niagara Cty. eight years ago.  I have worked as a Civil and Environmental Engineer for about 22 years for the State and local gov't and for Engineering Consultants.

I am intimately familiar with attempts to privatize services, mostly public works services (water, sewer and waste disposal).  Sometimes it works, if it is done right.  You have to be patient, very thorough and willing to give up on certain thoughts to be in the best interest of those being served as well as the taxbase as a whole.

The proposal to privatize Mt. View is very wrong.  They are doing too much, too fast and only the few who are in charge will benefit.  After they are gone (move on) in a few years (or sooner), the situation will hit the fan!  Then the County will be responsible, and we will be stuck with a much larger bill than we have now.

I did not get that information from anyone, but developed it myself based on how I know Gov't works.

I hope my thoughts have merit with some, but I know we have our own opinions.

I have read some of your stuff before Lou.  As long as we can agree to respect each other's thoughts, I am sure we will trade some good ones on message board's like this one.

Hello again Jim!  WOW, I guess I owe you a very heartfelt apology for missing that you answered this previously on the thread. I Am Sorry for letting it go this long. Must have gotten buried (and I as well)---anyway, thanks for the clarification about your father. I just wasn't sure if that was him or you.

Do you know of a Karl Timko? He was on the Town of Niagara board, or he might have been a Justice. I believe he was a Twn.Justice. Would you, or perhaps your father know if he is alive, well and where? Cal Richards? Doug Johnson? WOW again, this is like Old Home Days...  :*)

I know Cal's son Steve is the Twn.Super. I have often wondered about Cal, because as a kid I would go into his garage on Sweethome Rd. He was a very kind man and I liked him, thought Cal was Cool!  Say hello to any of those guys that you ever see!

A Big Grin--I first met Doug when he knocked on my parents house door, patrol car idlling in the driveway and was Looking for Me! (No revolving lights though-whew).

As a kid, I used to make those Estes rockets and would often make a design of my own. One night, yep night, when I couldn't wait to see how this "custom bird" would fly, and please keep in mind Doug had just started the job (that's how young I was), I launched that rocket at night figuring I would find it the following morning...anyway it went errant and on to the roof of the neighbor a road over (causing no damage thankfully) and I think the  _______  family was probably sitting right on their porch facing C.L.S.C.--Cape Lou Space Center and saw my "L.A.U.N.C.H."  LOL--Probably imagining that they were under attack!  LOL!

It ended well. I was made VERY aware of the dangers and ALL further experiments were done in the full daylight--on approved test firing grounds (Resevoir St.Park).  That seems like nearly __,_______ years ago and there's been at least two other Police Chiefs after him (J.Keller & J. Suitor).

Well, that's it except for another apology for missing your previous posting.

Cheers,

Lou Ricciuti

Lou,

Thanks for the reply.  I know of a lot of the people you speak of, but I do not know much about what is going on in the Town of Niagara right now.

My father is still living there.  He will be 70 this December.

I have been back in Niagara County, living in Pendleton since 1997.  Love it here with my family.  It is a good town, and there are good people here.

Heard you on Scott Leffler's show when I was driving in Niagara County.   You seem pretty committed to your beliefs, and I can respect that.

Please realize though that I cannot comment on what you say based on my occupation.  The only thing I can do is to encourage you to do what you think is right.

I know some of the people you work with in other circles such as Bill Choboy who is a friend of my father's and Mary Anne Rolland who I know from the Niagara County Brownfields committee.  They are good people.

Good luck and maybe I will meet you sometime.

Jim Sacco

I'm really not happy that this wasn't clearly disclosed at some point over the last several months.

If there's a good explaination, I'm willing to listen. Otherwise, my comment about you being able to offer some sort of help and didn't stands Jim!

I thought I'd post this in a few applicable places. If I have to go back and correct, amend or apologize, I can do that...

FROM THE SHERIFF's SIGN HOO-HA THREAD--But for here too

RE: BRIAN GREAR SHOWS

Jim:

Is any of the stuff on the other thread accurate about the CWM post, the NYSDEC etc? Did I miss something in a previous thread here? Is that why you said our discussions would be "limited" over on the Hello Jim Thread? Why in the world didn't you just say this about CWM??

Why has there been so much discussion and attention paid to these other issues when there have been so many pressing environmental discussions here that could have benefited from your communicating with us? I'm feeling really rather disappointed and crestfallen that this wasn't known to me until just now. Were ALL of my environmental comments fair game to Corporate Giants and Regulators alike?  Sure, I know, I know, public bulletin board and all...

Seems kind of unfair that this was kept under the rug (or landfill liner), so to speak. If I'm wrong on this and somewhere on the board you disclosed that you're a NYSDEC monitor at Chemical Waste Management at the LOOW site Model City Lewiston-Porter, NY, then I will apologize.

Otherwise, I could go on...

Say it ain't so.

LR

Ps-Sorry for being off-post sort-of to those who wish to drone on and on about signs--forevermore.

O.K.. Now I get it. "Current situation" meant we were supposed to know about CWM.

FROM ANOTHER THREAD--
Jim Sacco wrote: jspeer,  I do like reading your statements about me for a good laugh.    Thanks.. Scott,  I need to check on some things, and hope to bring it out here on your forum page soon.  I am quite confident that at least one (Hayes) is backed by Maziarz. Hope to comment back soon.   Jim Sacco "I am his oldest son and had lived in Albany for about 14 years before moving back to Niagara Cty. eight years ago.  I have worked as a Civil and Environmental Engineer for about 22 years for the State and local gov't and for Engineering Consultants" "I have one simple question Mr Sacco. Are you the same James Sacco, Chairman of the Penelton Master Plan Committee and Environmental Engineer for the DEC? Because that's who I believe Ann thinks you are." If we put it here on your own thread will you answer the question Mr. Sacco? "I have one simple question Mr Sacco. Are you the same James Sacco, Chairman of the Penelton Master Plan Committee and Environmental Engineer for the DEC?"

"Due to my job, and appointed positions I have, I attempt to keep my responses very well defined.  I think other topics are very interesting to read, but do not believe it is appropriate for me to respond, at least right now given my current situation."

Wow, "Very well defined" means dancing around the subjects--Now I'm really unhappy and I think this stinks!

I wonder how many times he will be asked this question before he answers.
