Dick Durbin said he regretted that people misunderstood him and others misrepresented him.
 
Much like GWB says he regrets that we had to go fight in Iraq - while I don't believe that for a minute, does that mean that GWB apologized for the war in Iraq?
 
The right seems to want to get Durbin to apologize - not so they can drop the issue, but so they can hammer him harder. "Look, even he admitted he was giving aid and comfort to the enemy."
