He has some of the best hitting and fielding numbers in baseball...how can you keep him out? Even if you hate the Yankees, there is no denying he should be there. Jeter has a .700 career batting average in 6 All Star Games, which is the best average EVER with players with 10 at bats or more. He is baseballs poster boy since Ripkin retired. He leads the majors with 69 runs scored and he is one of the league leaders with a .398 on base percentage and is the reigning golden glove champion at short stop. Maybe the league needs to rethink how they pick the All Star Team.

What possible reason could there be for not choosing Jeter?
Traditionally, fan favorites have been named to the All Stars, after long and accomplished careers like Jeter, even if their current numbers are not that great, because these are the players the fans want to see. But Jeter is still a league leader, as JSpeer points out.
all star balloting is done by baseball fans casting votes for the players they think are deserving of playing at the half way point of the season. the players themselves also elect a limited number of thier own memebers who they think are deserving to play in the game. finally the managers of each leagues teams get to name a couple of layers to the team.
so apparently mlb fans, players and the manager of the team felt jeter was not good enough this year to make the team!!!!!!!
using jspeer's logic of past performance getting you on the team then guys like barry bonds and curt schilling should be on the team also.
oh and by the way while jeter is truly one of the classiest acts in the game the best shortstop for the yankees plays third. compare the offensive and defensive #' and say it isn't so
Is this Joe?Say it isn't so!. I agree Jeter is the second best shortstop on the yankees and in the league. The Yankees knew that by moving Jeter it would'nt make a big difference...so they left well enough alone. And as for Bonds and Schilling...I thought they retired.LOL! I can't wait to see how they play without the roids overflowing from their systems.
