I put together the Gary_Hayes_for_Sheriff web site and posted many of the pro-Hayes messages on this Forum, and happen to be as skeptical about Primary Challenge as you are.

You can't call Gary Hayes a joke. For one thing, I sat down with him several times and got to know him as a decent, fair-minded individual and a fine man.

Secondly, anyone who makes the effort to run for public office should be commended, not insulted.

I have worked on campaigns over the years, but they were all party endorsees. What I learned helping Gary is that when you run against an incumbent in your own party, especially one as entrenched and powerful as Beilein, you are persona non grata.

So if Gary made a rookie mistake, it's because he really didn't have anyone who knew the ropes.

I don't understand why Maziarz would use an organization like PC unless they were competent enough to get their people on the ballot at least.

You claim to have worked on other campaigns in the past, so you of all people should know that the little senator has promised jobs and everything to include the kitchen sink to manipulate people and the CON / IND and REP Parties. Just look at the latest endorsements from these parties and of the sheriff. Why wouldn’t he want to get involved in the PC Group, after all Ms. LaTona’s dad was his attorney and it’s one more avenue he can round up.

The only ones that miss out on this entire ordeal are the voters, but that’s typical when power and the attempt to have absolute power comes into play.

Finally, the little senator has DONE ZIP for this area. He can spread his pork money around and his supporters will thinks he a great gay or (guy) typo sorry. Look at his voting record and you will see he has failed this area. But, his little empire is slowing falling apart.

I take it that some official word has come out about this. It would be nice if people would post the details or official statements along with the editorial. Was something in the paper, I haven't looked at todays yet.

It was on WIVB (4), Friday morning.

As for Gear / Grear - he is backed by friends, family and supporters. He is working hard and has no support from any of the high level REP Party. Even the liitle senator isn't support this kid. Shame, Shame!

I'm intrigued by the comment about Maziarz's empire crumbling. I think he is as powerful as ever. I don't know why anyone would make that statement, unless you have some photos that haven't been made public yet.

Thank you anonymous, I apparenty should have taken a breather to watch news 4 this week. They seemed to be on top of Niagara County this week. I just received an email regarding this issue. It is posted below.

I was not aware I had entered this debate, but I guess I should have been more clear in my post. The point I was trying to make was that to many threads are being started without enough information. This thread was started by an anonymous poster, who appeared to be quite pleased with this new found information. I was simply asking for clarification on this new development. Sorry if I confused anyone.

One more thing, I am not at all offended by someone posting accurate information. If I didn't want to know, I wouldn't ask.

Too bad this guy went bellyup. He could have cleaned up nicely. He might have been rough around the edges but someone could have given him direction. Maybe that was the problem. The right people were not giving him direction.
