I don't think the national gov't or any other state should give 10 cents to relief. These people have to know the consequences of living in a place that is a high risk flood area. I don't see them sharing the wealth. I'll give them money if they give me money to shovel the snow on everyones driveway, pay my high gas and electric bills, repave my roads that are damaged from snow, ice and plows every winter. How much do the winter months cost us? We don't get relief to pay for these things. Why should they? The state gov't should be ready to flip the bill for these kinds of disasters. I got an idea...raise your taxes and put it in a general relief fund. Southerners brag about low taxes and steal Northern business. let them start paying their fair share of the taxes and even the playing field. I'm tired of flipping the bill. We have our own problems in this state. I know I'm gonna catch hell for writing this....TOUGH!
