"The Interview."

Beginning Monday, on four days out of the week, there will be even more Scott Leffler to go around.

At 12:30 p.m., Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, I'll be conducting a one-on-one interview with a newsmaker. Maybe someone local or on a local topic. Maybe someone national - an author or whathaveyou.

The show kicks off Monday with Katherine DeBrecht and "Help Mom! There are Liberals Under My Bed," a childrens book whose goal is to "teach children conservative values," first and foremost of which is that "liberals are bad."

I had my eight year old read the book and I interviewed her yesterday. I'll be playing some of that interview Monday during Dialog - at it's new time of 11 a.m. - and a snippet or two during The Interview at 12:30 with DeBrecht. My daughters thoughts on the book were incredibly interesting and I'm very excited to share them with you.

Also next week on The Interview, we'll talk with Debbie Dietrich, director of the 30 Hour Famine (you may have heard about it on a PSA on WLVL or WBEN). Plus we'll speak to someone on the upcoming Kite Festival in Niagara Falls and talk with author Ben Nelson about "1001 ways to reward employees."

Now some of these are interviews that I would have done DURING Dialog anyway ... freeing up more time for you and I to talk then ... and some of them wouldn't have been "Dialog worthy" (think sponge worthy). But with more time, we'll get more guests to talk about cool stuff.

So do me a favor and tell your friends about the new show ... although I won't be taking calls during that time slot, I'll feel better knowing that people are listening. And it wouldn't surprise me if we had a pop quiz the next day during Dialog.

***********************************

DeBrecht's book makes more sense than telling children there is an all-powerful being who takes the time to listen to, and act on, the prayers of each and every one of us, and that we have something called a soul that no other living creature has, that is spirited off personally by this deity to paradise when you die, unless you're bad or are unlucky enough to live your entire life in a culture that didn't realize that our god had the rights.

Used to be called Early Childhood Development. To teach children that Liberalism is bad is like teaching them that there should be only one religion. Is this teaching or further indoctrination and training for a Totalitarian Society?

The interview that I did with my daughter is available for download in the "podcast" section of the website. The audio is a little choppy since Emily practically whispered her answers and I had to increase the volume on her parts, but the content is exquisite. All "Interviews" will be available on the podcast page, along with the "Dialogs." Hope you enjoy.
