Please ask about the search of the missing 3 year in the Town. Was Mr. Grear on duty/on call for such emergencies? If so, did the Sheriff remove his vehicle and equipment 2 weeks prior making it impossible as Mr. Grear stated in his Guest View in the US&J? Which is it?

I find it hard to believe that they would be in 2 places at the same time. Although if they are, it could influence my vote!

Come on people...stop the bashing. Lets not stoop to the levels of "some canidates".
There are alot of issues here on the board...which have nothing to do with snowplowing or personal info about days off ( hmmm...wonder who would know exactly how many days off Brian has? I hope no one within the Sheriffs Dept is snooping into the personal system?)
Brian is an awesome public speaker and not afraid to get in front of people. As for the comments about the Villella family....pffft...lets not go there.
Simply I am tired of some of these elections getting nasty....I mean lets look at the canidates qualifications and what they can AND WILL do for the county~!
Stop blowing smoke here and talk about the facts...the he said she said **** is for the birds.

I'm sure there is some kind of dated memo on file that could prove or disprove this or even a dated letter to Greer.
On the show today, the sheriff was asked about the news conference held by Grear about the donations from Smokin' Joe Anderson (which, btw, in light of the Anello debacle....doesn't sound good). Anyway, his answer contained the word "hyperbole". A word that he pronounced completely wrong. Maybe the person who wrote his answer for him should have had him practice saying it out loud first!

The point is that a dedicated deputy would have responded any wayy they could, even "crawling on broken glass" to help a three year old, which does include responding with a personal car!
The point is he held a personal grudge, and he acted on it at the expense of a three year old.
Why not use your name anonymous? At work at the sheriff's dept. perhaps? or at the DEC?
The point is....I was speaking about a rehearsed answer, not about an 8 year old topic that has been brought up by sheriff countless times....but with a confidentiality agreement putting the kabosh on Mr. Grear's ability to answer completely. So I guess we can never hear Grear's side.

The sheriff also pointed out Brian Grear's statement at his press conference that recieving the money from Joe Anderson, through the NT Dem Cmte amounted to laundering of money.
If Brian knew about handling of money, pursuant to the NYS Election Law, he may not have made that "gutter" accusation.
But who are we to think that Brian knows anything about handling of money? All Brian knows is how to throw out reckless accusations, not necessarily backed up by fact.
It *is* too bad Mr. Grear is effectively muzzled (pun intended) by the terms of the settlement from responding to questions about the missing child incident, but like he said the gag was the Sheriff's requirement, not his, and I noticed Beilein did not refute that.
Besides, I'd agree to keep my mouth shut too, for a lump sum payment of $70,000.
When Scott asked the Sheriff about the slap/restrained female/miscarriage issue, the Sheriff got real excited. There was no crime! No evidence! he said repeatedly.
So Sheriff .......... Who determines if there was a crime committed...... Would it be......... Well, I don't know......... possibly .................. You?
I guess we should have expected all the prison personnel present during the incident to wrestle your life-long friend and second-in-command to the floor and slap the cuffs on him. But of course, there was no evidence of a crime being committed, except for the lawsuit and that doesn't count as evidence.

Over the weekend I saw a somewhat large day-glow purple sign on someone’s lawn that said “Vote Villela” I didn’t really think about it until just now.It was near the end of Lincoln Rd. Out side of Lockport.

Unlike the Villella who is supporting Grear, the sign you saw is for John Villella, who is a good man that owns his own building inspection business.
John Villella is the candidate for 19th district County Legislator and a good family man.
Sheriff's Department flooded with law suits. Since Niagara County Sheriff Tom Beilein took office it appears that his department has been involved in well over one hundred law suits. The Lockport Home Page has been given a 24-page packet of documents showing a multitude of actions against Niagara County taxpayers and the Niagara County Sheriff's Department. Lockport Pager, Dr. Peter Buckholtz, tries to do the math totaling up 24 pages of judgements, settlements, and legal expenses for some of the actions taken against County taxpayers through suits against the Sheriff's Department.
In cases going back to 1994 the documents show expensive legal actions that County taxpayers have had to foot the bill for due to a multitude of claims against the Sheriff's Department and the Niagara County Jail. The total judgements and settlement cash that appear to have been extracted from the defendant Sheriff's Department appears to go well into five figures. And that's not county Workers Compensation claims. Among the claims settled or judgements awarded the documents list: Negligence resulting in death, medical/dental malpractice at the jail, physical assault in the jail, injuries suffered while inmates were playing baseball and basketball, victim beaten by Sheriff's Deputy, Jail visitor injured when a chair collapsed, mail tampering, false arrest, sexual assault, civil rights violations, woman attacked and bitten by Sheriff Department dog, excessive force used during arrest, wrongful detention and arrest, delay in medical treatment, inmate falling out of bed, unfair treatment in police academy training, denial of religion practices, damage to property held by Sheriff's Department as "evidence," attack by Sheriff's dog, failure to provide medication causing seizure, acts of omission and negligence, personal items "disappear" while victim is in jail, victim hangs himself in jail, illegal strip search, pregnant woman chained to bench and beaten, high speed ATV chase causing injuries. Some of the items cited are multiple suits from different subjects. Suits against the department even appear to include actions brought by Deputies themselves. Many of the cases shown in the documentation have been previously reported here at the Lockport Home Page. Not details are the multitude of cases brought against the County which did not result in a cash award verdict or settlement against the County but for which the County has to provide expensive legal counsel. (11/1/05)
so everyone in prison is worthless? what the hell is that? no good person could be in jail due to extenuating circumstances? perhaps being wrongfully accused? my god, a man has died, show some respect you dreg.
