LOCKPORT - Developers announced Tuesday that they had acquired 7.3 acres off Park Lane Circle for a $9 million, 80-unit condominium project.
"We purchased the land (Tuesday) morning. We already got approval for the project," said Cliff Raab, spokesman for the developers. The city Planning Board approved the plan earlier this month.
Great. Fantastic...I can hardly wait...(This is sarcasm) THis p*sses me off, because here I am, in the East end of the city, paying city taxes, and these stupid condos start being built and, lo and behold, they are in the town so they pay town taxes and I get screwed out of any green space I had...and every time I drive down Elmwood I have to risk running into a bunch of deer, because they have no-where else to go, because these Amherst b*stards feel that God forbid there is any unpopulated, un-developed space left in the city...Well, I don't live in Amherst and I like having some nice vacant land behind me...first it was those ugly ass subdivision houses on Elmwood, now this...Yuck!
I guess I should have stayed in Sanborn....

You're right, obviously, my mistake... but...still, condos? This is like the un-greening of Lockport...Hey, let's build a big Starbucks on Davison road while we're at it...I hate this new trend, of 'let's use up every foot of open land until there's nothing left.' It's just too suburb-ian for me. I think the city limits is right at Davison, I'm not sure...but these condos are too close to me for comfort....
