Mrs. K , I'm with you all the way! All we hear about is the nasty things and the name dropping of certain people, look all over Niagara county at the signs in A/politcal peoples yards that tells you something! Even if tom beilein gets re-elected it should make him see that people are watching whats going on . But lets hope that everyone who is unhappy VOTES! and I think that's a lot of people.

Mrs. Grear - er I mean Mrs. K (I assume you are his mother),

If the guy can't even pass (or hasn't tried to) a sargents exam he shouldn't even be allowed to run for sheriff, there should at least be a minimum qualification for a job. At least I hope there are enough intelligent people in the county who will think that way.

I have said all along that it looks like there are some problems with Beilein, but it is obvious that Grear is not qualified to run the department, with or without Villela's hand controlling him like a puppet.

The facts-

Grear started the negative campaign with his false accusations early that the sheriff took money from road patrols for the jail, when that was proven false.

Grear accused the sheriff wrongly of a felony money laundering, when that was also proven wrong.

Grear might be a good guy but he needs some promotions to learn enough to be sheriff, if he takes/passes some exams.

Too bad though, with his nasty campaign he probably is as high as he ever will be in the sheriffs now.

You never answered my one question! Why do you keep putting anonymous instead of your proper name? Are you afraid something will bite ya in the A$$?

I am unaware in regards to the Sargents exams but.... It is pretty sad the the current Sheriff couldn't even complete an Associates Degree at NCCC.

The Facts~

Mr. Grear did not start this negative campaign!

Sheriff Beilein started it from day one with this 3year old girl/ dog situation. Which by the way is false. Beilein admitted to taken the cars away 2 weeks prior to the incident at the Dale Assoc. Debate! HMMMMM

Please don't be so harsh on Sheriff Beilein. Maybe he will buy you a new Avalanch like the one he bought for a man in Barker. Which he say's he knows nothing about? HMMMMMM

You forgot about Grear's accusation of the Sheriff laundering money! (see, what goes around, comes around).

[I should not be so harsh with Brian, he does grind a good ax, unless that is Villella grinding it for him.]

A few questions:

Why is everyone so irate about the Grear/Beilein race? In other words, have all the sheriff elections been this negative and I just didn't notice?

A couple people have made vague references to the candidates' college attendance or lack thereof -- in a rather condescending manner I might add. I'm a grad student and planning to teach on the university level so, obviously, I realize there is a lot of value in post-secondary education. But why is it so important to have a college degree to win this election? What field would meet your criteria -- business, accounting, criminal justice, law? I have a degree in English/Comparative Literature -- can I be the sheriff or, by "college degree," you didn't really mean that any old college degree would do? What exactly do you mean by "college degree" then -- an associate's, bachelor's and in what field? People reference "education" or "college" as some kind of panacea for the incompetent, unethical, or just plain stupid; I tend to think that there are effective politicians with/without college degrees just as there are ineffective politicians with/without a BA/BS so why does this call for sarcasm?

The main reason that the college issue is brought up here (or anywhere) is Belien says that Mr. Grear is not "qualified" to be Sheriff. I am not sure of what "qualifications" Belien feels are up to par....but protecting/serving the public is one of the job qualification is a necessity....and frankly I personally know Belien does NOT show that in his past years holding the position.

and the point of the 3 year old is, ignore the car issue, the more important thing is , didn't Brian have a personal car he could have driven to help a 3 year old or did he have to have a county car to get there?

The faceless will never answer your questions Mrs K. Instead they will direct the comments at you to confuse the issue. I got several negative and nasty mailings from the Beilien campaign but no negative ones from the Grear camp. That says volumes about who these people really are. I am so tired of hearing about the missing child, Grear won that lawsuit, that also speaks volumes. Police dogs are pets unless they are put in that K-9 vehicle with all of the related equipment. Anyone who is not familiar with that should make a point to watch the demonstrations at next years Niagara County Fair.

I see some ones snow plow issue has yet to be resolved. If that's the best they can do Grear really doesn't have much to worry about. Get some real (political) issues like how much taxpayer money has been spent defending the current sheriff. I would really like to see those numbers.

There was no reason why Brian or any of the other Sheriff Deputys needed to be there. Deputy Lucas was one of the first to respond and found the little girl minutes after he got there. He did an amazing job and got an AWESOME reward for it. Why weren't you there?

Good point Mrs. K! And it is also the truth! If everyone would see the holes in the Sherrif's "stories" we would all be alot better off. Its a comman campaign ploy that he uses. Telling untruths about his opponent to take the pressure off of answering anything himself. Think about it people...who would spend money on mailers that mention your opponents name several times and your name just once? When my elderly aunt received it she asked me if I received the flyer in the mail about Brian Grear....she then handed me the viscous mailer Belien sent about him. She is elderly, cant see all that well anymore and thought it was a campaign flyer for Mr Grear.
