Dark day for diners & drinkers. The Davison Road Inn closed without notice this week. Employees arrived to find everything locked and a simple hand-written sign on the back door. It's all over after a run that spanned decades and generations. The Lockport Home Page has been unable to confirm the reason for the closure but we are aware of it. Many employees are immediately looking for work. The closing at Davison Road follows by a couple weeks the closure of the Greek restaurant on South Transit Road with a tax lien.
The above is from the Lockport-NY home page.

Man, that really, really sucks! I wonder what the heck is going on around here? I hope that this is a temporary thing, but who knows, nowadays...it seems as if the tax man is suddenly coming down hard on a lot of small business owners around here...if indeed it is a tax thing in this case.
Very sad news.

I didn't really like the DRI anyway....It was like drinking in a cave. I hope the next bar puts in windows. I know the owners kids and they all have good careers and wouldn't want the bar.

Yeah, the lack of windows is unnerving...I never could put my finger on it, but that's it! As far as drinking in a cave goes, I think the Niagara Hotel wins that award! No, wait, that's more like drinking in a 18th century torture chamber!
