ok , Mr MC , 5 at one time ? how about i give you one or two easy ones and you counter .?
#1 The war in afghanastan; the enemy was identified , warned , and then defeated all without a knee jerk nuclear strike [as many expected at the time] and without the use of the American military ground juggernaught , yes American military was used , but mostly rangers and spec ops fighting along side local militia under our direction . something the russian / soviet military could never accomplish in 10 years , was finished in months . as a result ...
#2 libya surrendered with out a shot being fired .... MQ could not get our people in there quick enough to verify he had no nasty toys -and to give up what he did have - and much intel was gleaned .
leadership ? i guess so ... especially after Al Gork has just publicly stated that he would have done no such thing , the army of the USA will still be at home ... waiting .... for a leader.
to his eminance ... from memory the goals were to remove the threat in iraq and hand over the reigns to an established democratic government with a constitution , then leave , and the job is most of the way accomplished .
following the thread , but un related to the above ...
Sen. Clinton (D-NY): "[Saddam] Has Also Given Aid, Comfort, And Sanctuary To Terrorists, Including Al-Qaida Members, Though There Is Apparently No Evidence Of His Involvement In The Terrible Events Of September 11, 2001. This Much Is Undisputed." (Sen. Hillary Clinton, Congressional Record, 10/10/02, p. S10288)
In 1999, The Clinton Administration Issued A Report That Said Iraq Was Supporting Terrorists. "[T]he Patterns of Global Terrorism report listed Iran, Libya, Cuba, Iraq, North Korea, Sudan and Syria and exiled Saudi millionaire Osama bin Laden as terrorist sponsors. The seven countries were on the same list last year. Secretary of State Dr Madeleine Albright said: 'Governments on the list that would like to see their names removed know exactly what they must do: stop planning, financing and supporting terrorist acts and stop sheltering or interfering with the apprehension and prosecution of those who commit them.'" ("No Reprieve For Nations Of Terror," The [Perth, Australia] Sunday Times, 5/2/99)
you should see the video ... ( Tuesday, 5:00 PM CST) released a video titled, "Democrats, Dishonest on Iraq"... in their own words, of course. This is certain to be an instant classic! You may view it HERE.
Mike, you really have no concept of what leadership is, do you? Those are examples of our President flexing muscles.
You still owe me five.

This is just mindless, macho, Marine Corps BS. It's a phrase designed by souless yuppies, right up there with "No Pain, No Gain" and "Just Do It." You know what I do when I see that slogan on a t-shirt? I obstruct. I get right in their way. And you know what happens every single time? They go around me..."
Carlin? Love that guy!
Anyway, I'm wondering why so much significance is placed on a speech about supporting the troops; haven't I heard in the last year or two that Bush tried to cut funding for Veterans and Veteran Hospitals, etc? Also, wasn't there an article in the Union-Sun in the last year indicating that a bunch of local Marines weren't getting their hazard pay like a year after having "liberated" Iraq? I'd like to know how these actions constitute support of our troops by our government and the President?

you should have read the book American Soldier by Tommy Franks , it goes into great detail about the planning and prosecution of the war s , in iraq and afghanastan . i read it shortly after it was released , which does not make me an expert on the subject , but , it clearly demonstrates the leadership qualities of the current POTUS .

that was me , i thought i was logged in , but ....
But that link was nothing but a book review. Opinion. Not facts. Weren't you supposed to supply reasons why Bush was a real leader and not just the guy in charge? There is a difference you know...
If I felt his religious crusades were justified, then I could say that shows leadership. But he's dragging two-thirds of the country where they don't want to go when he opposes such things as gay marriage or stem cell research.
