The United Auto Workers union is sponsoring a community rally in Lockport on Wednesday, Nov. 30, to elicit public support for UAW members and Western New York workers in general.
As much as I despise management for the trickery they're pulling, it's hard for me to feel bad for the union cause they refuse to get their heads out of their @sses and see that some of this MAY be their fault ... and the whole thing DEFINATELY IS their problem. But they'll keep calling in sick - racking up overtime - and talking about striking. When they return to the real world, I'll consider feeling bad for them.
If I worked at Delphi I'd be using up the paid time off, and working all the overtime that came my way. With the coming corporate bankruptcy and attendant wage and benefits slashing, it's only prudent and in their self-interest to do so.

You know what? I am in a union, and I am still having a hard time figuring that out... But I am only part time, so perhaps I am unworhty of the freemmason like inner sanctum knowledge of exactly what they do. I have been to union events, and try to be supportive, but I have been working on my job for 10 months now, and the only acknowledgement i have received that I am even a Union is the Union dues they take out of my checks.
I am ABSOLUTELY NOT complaining. I really believe in the Union(s) the same way people go to OTB and bet on the long shot...it just has to make good, eventually. In the meantime, here I am, paying my exhorbitant union dues...
I edited this due to my innumerable misspellings.
