Reaching out to the Sunni Arab community, Iraqi leaders called for a timetable for the withdrawal of U.S.-led forces and said Iraq's opposition had a "legitimate right" of resistance.
The leaders agreed on "calling for the withdrawal of foreign troops according to a timetable, through putting in place an immediate national program to rebuild the armed forces ... control the borders and the security situation" and end terror attacks.
I heard an NPR talking head say yesterday that the Iraqi leadership is worried sick about the consequences if we stay in Iraq, and they're worried sick about the consequences if we leave Iraq...

since the Sunnis and the wahabis are the ones sponsoring the rebels and since the Sunnis are the group that is mostly resisting the new government , [ do you think the shi ites are blowing them selves apart in their mosques and funerals ] it stands to reason that they would want us to leave .
it was a struggle to get the sunnis to vote in the most recent elections , many did not .
the sunnis are more like orthodox and adhere to the koran more strictly , the shi ite are more liberal with their veiws of the koran .
