Though the American media is slow to report it, U.S. forces are relentlessly destroying Zarqawi's senior leadership. A November 2 air strike killed two senior al Qaeda operatives in Iraq: Abu Zahra, the so-called Emir of Husaybah, ran all insurgent operations in that Iraqi city, and Asadallah, Zarqawi's key recruiter. U.S. forces have now confirmed the identities of both dead terrorists.

On October 23, U.S. forces captured Abu Hassan, the head of al-Zarqawi's media cell. Hassan was responsible for producing video tapes of insurgent attacks to give to al-Jazeera and other television networks. Hassan even produced forged police and press passes to allow insurgents to case targets and film the devastation following insurgent attacks.

"Zarqawi's senior leadership"? Mr. Mike?

It's the hundreds, possibly thousands who join the "junior leadership" every month that I'm more concerned about.

So this Hassan made videos and forged credentials? I used to do that before I could drink legally.

Mr. Mike, I can sit here and criticize Bill Clinton and his former policies for the rest of the afternoon.

Is there a single criticism you would level at your hero President George Bush? Anything at all about the guy that bugs you? Or is he God incarnate to you?

painfull as it is to partialy admit ... he did not want to approve it but after the speech he gave lauding it he had no choice when the bill was rushed through by the congress and senate and placed on his desk ...... but he did sign it and it was a great thing .

Ooops, I didn't want the above to go unsigned. For anyone else who might like to use this image, please feel free to right click on the link and include it in your posts. It's of an old race horse back from the days when $25K was a big deal purse. It's also very appropriate for certain posts. Very. Since the photo is of an abandonded copyright post card and that horse was made into glue before most of us were even born, I don't think there's any problem in using it. Ummm, no. The economy, and this ficticious 'financial leadership,' is not that great. What 'real' facts do you use to determine whether the economy as a whole is good, bad or median?

here is one from the washington com-post a liberal newspaper that tries to kick the current POTUS's butt if they can , but here they can not . the article shows that the economy is doing well , better than any other nation in the west . http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/12/02/AR2005120201912.html

But in that article, Greenspan also warns of the living standard turning into liquid crap because no one's making as much money as they used to. Indicators like improved stockmarket and low unemployment don't reflect accurately on the state of the economy. You have to look deeper.

It's nice that we have a 95% employment rate. Tell me how many of those jobs are full time, at more than $10/hr? A 5% unemployment rate only means that there are no good jobs left and everyone's snatching up the minimum wage crap jobs. Sure, everyone's employed, many more than once. But they're taking several low-wage jobs to take the place of the one good job they used to have, which means we don't have a good economy.

As an example, when your buddy Clinton left office, we had an unemployment rate of 3.7%. When Bush took over, it shot back up to 4.7 within a few months, peaking at around 6.5%. Curiouser and curiouser... I see better leadership from Slick Willie.

And what exactly did Bush himself actually do to show financial leadership?

no , when your buddy clinton left office the economy was in free fall due to his tax increases , the dot com bubble was bursting , peoples pensions and savings were evaporating and we were at war , only your buddy clinton did not know it , or chose to ignore it.

against popular advice GWB reversed the tax increases and by so doing jump started the economy . an act of leadership , the fruits of which we see today .
