Kudos to the local paper for calling out Ed McDonald, President of county unit of AFSCME, for his incredibly absurd comment, "I got three guys $2,500 for not setting foot on the property" ( by the way, folks, when he talks about that $2,500, do you know whos money that is? IT'S YOURS! Isn't it nice to hear how non-chalant he is with YOUR money), when referring to the attempt by the county to transfer park land to the Town of Lockport. Folks, this is the mentality that prevents Niagara County and Western New York from progressing. As someone who has lived in different areas of the country, this is absolutely disgraceful and not tolerated. I commend the county for moving forward with the transfer of this property, despite the threats from the union.

Does anyone wonder why the public despises public sector unions? This mentality of "entitlement" is sickening, and the union leadership needs to understand that in the world we live in, where most employees, if not all, are being asked to contribute to cost saving measure, that compromise is necessary.

I believe Tom LaFornia, President of the county unit of the CSEA said in the local paper that their wages and benefits are in line with the private sector. Hey Tommy Boy, I suggest that you read today's paper; for the first time, Delphi retirees are being required to contribute to their health insurance costs. And that is no April Fools joke. So what is your response now? You're benefits are so much better than what the private sector offers, and you just want more. I'm here to tell you, your gravy train is going to come to a grinding halt.
