Looks like Rush Limbaugh got busted again for Rx shopping. Disgraceful. Again.

Story Link

"Prosecutors accused him of illegally deceiving multiple doctors to receive overlapping prescriptions, a practice known as doctor shopping. After seizing his medical records, authorities learned Limbaugh received up to 2,000 painkillers, prescribed by four doctors in six months..."

Over 2,000 pills? This sound like Conservative useage to you? That's 10 pills a day!

"Kendall Coffey, a former U.S. attorney and Miami defense lawyer, said the agreement is a standard deal for first-time, nonviolent drug offenders."

Ask a first-time marijuana user if that's the treatment he recieved...

it does appear that Rush took 1 page from the Kennedy book , but there is no body in the creek and no police cover up and no wrecked cars , and Rush is not an elected official .--------------------------------------------------------

Support your Right Winger Dope Head. Isn't that correct there honey?

"Victimless Crime" only because it's a matter of time before he does create collateral victims.

Where's that Gazette post of yours--instead of running over here to this thread?

You're an even bigger idiot than I initially thought. This isn't about the Kennedy's; Limbaugh broke the law to feed his drug addiction and it was most likely a matter of time before someone was hurt because as you're well aware overdosing on drugs = impaired judgment. Although he isn't an elected official, he sought out the public sphere so why shouldn't we all stare and point when he turns out to be frickin hypocrite?

if you dont like rush , dont listen to him , since he is the most popular talkshow host in USA a few people must like him  including myself . but i dont listen to his show as it would interfere with work .

but i am not so much of an idiot that i would vote to put a person into the senate who's poor judgement caused the death of a young woman , nor would i vote in to the congress another who's addiction would  hamper his ability to serve his constituants to the best of his ability, limited as that may be .

.[ in fact no one was injured by Rush 'es actions , what might have been ... ? according to whom ? might have been but was'nt really  ]

if i had to vote one of the three into office , i would choose D none of the above .      if pressed , i would vote for rush .

So it's OK to break the law, as long as no one gets hurt?

Oh good, guess we can repeal the laws against drugs of all kinds, not to mention prostitution, suicide, protesting the president, helmet laws, pornogrpahy, gambling, polygamy, public nudity and vagrancy.

no of course not , but rush was treated as others that have broken the law to the same exctent that he allegedly broke the law , as per the DA he was not treated differently because of his "status" .

but if you or i got all boozed up and smashed a car into something , do you think the police would come to our assistance and drive us home ... or do you think an overnight stay in the drunk tank followed by high legal fees , higher auto insurance rates etc etc etc would be in order .

what if you got all boozed up and killed the woman you were with by accidently going to bed as she lay drowned or drowning in the car you drove into the creek ... . would you expect to be made a senator as a reward ? shake your head no .

so rush is bad and evil , but the kenedy s are good solid citizens ....what laws apply to them not the same law that applies to myself and rush . ? how about the law that applies to you ??

I never said Kennedy should have gotten off with a warning. And he is in rehab right now, just like Rush was. And neither Rush or Kennedy hurt anyone else. I will not defend the actions of either man. But if you're going to hold 2 people to different standards, then you are a hypocrite.

And while Rush is not an elected public official, he is a celebrity. A week ago, if you asked people who the biggest conservative radio personality was and then asked who was the Democratic Senator from Rhode Island, you wouldn't have gotten too many answers to the latter question. Point is, as "most popular talkshow host in USA," Rush has a strong responsibility to show a positive example. He himself claims he is perfect in every way, and attitude and delusions aside, he's got a severe drug addiction. 'Cause he can't handle a little back pain. Wah.

And I have news for you, the minumum legal action to doctor shopping is much stiffer than what Rush received. A high-priced lawyer spent 3 years or so, making sure El Rushbo didn't become El Inmate-o. A normal person would had to deal with massive fines, medical evaluation and jail time at least.

i dont think that the prosecuter going after rush is republican or conservative , if rush was not who he is , it is my opinion that he would not have been prosecuted at all . a non event . made to be something it never was .

i dont excuse rush - he should not have used the drugs - period .

doctor shopping ? like it is illegal to check around with different dr s to see which one you want to use ... since when . 2nd opinions are recomended in many cases , is that illegal ? no .

semantics , like the diapers , it depends .

is kenedy in rehab ... or was he whisked off to the mayo clinic [where communication to the outside is restricted] by his PR / Legal  advisors so that no more incriminating words could slip out of his mouth ?  loose lips sink re election campaigns ...

So you like the rush? But you don't listen to him (?) OOhh...K.

KIND OF LIKE THIS POST BUT I'LL ANSWER IT ANYWAY FOR SHIPSANDGIGGLES..:
Start with "it is his opinion." Sure. A "non-event" like a purse snatching or a simple perscription pad theft? Breaking and entering?
No, he was never made an example of the law because of who he is and what he says about the Right (however wrong they are>). Mindcrime is absolutely correct about his responsibility to the public.

Ohh..K...again, EVERYONE SHAKE YOUR HEAD Y.E.S. TO START OFF WITH...IT IS ILLEGAL..."Doctor Shopping" IS ILLEGAL. Sorry there Perry Mason. Seeing a doctor for a second opinion is one thing...{How many doctors did YOU shop for the multiple electro-shock light-metal treatments?}... is NOT like getting multiple scripts for OxyC, Darvon, Morphine or ANY other CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE-CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE-CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE-LEGALLY THROUGH ONE PERSCRIPTION. Duh! Tell us you don't understand that?

Jeesh, talk about selectively applying the law AND FAULTY low-gic to fit your friends or a convenient brain waveform.... Nice company you keep BTW...LOL!
WOW. Talk about any drugs--illegal or by script, and these comments above are whack--even if you're taking drugs!! W.H.A.C.K. wow.

Shaking my head no at this...
If your father-in-law is to be prosecuted for anything, it should be for allowing his daughter to...you get the picture.

The Mayo "Clinic" is still a hospital. That's H.O.S.P.I.T.A.L.

Go to Northern Dutchess Ho-spit-al and get a comment from your administrator there about patient interviews. Bring a camera for those rear-of-the-gown photos too! What a Bozo!

But to refer to Rush's tranesgression as "a non-issue" isn't equal treatment under the law, now is it?

only 4 ? my father in law has multiple doctors from multiple locations with many perscriptions not all from the same doctor or location some duplication exists , is he to be prosecuted also then ? Probably. because of incompetence one facility continues to change his charts to show he is diabetic and make incorrect recomendations for incorrect perscriptions based on their error - should my father in law be prosecuted for that also ?   That sounds more like malpractice than anything else. Maybe you should be looking into legal action against the hospital/HMO. For all the dcotors he went to, couldn't you find a single competent doctor to treat him? Good thing Bush is on the side of Big Pharma, and not the consumer.

true enough , but it is also true that the mayo clinic does not allow their "guests" to make statements to the press ... is that not very convenient for the legal team that has to defend the incriminating statements he has already made  when and if the case makes it 's way to court ?  nod your head yes. Many hospitals, especially those dealing in rehabiltation restrict contact with the outside. It's distracting, inconvenient for the staff and sometimes dangerous. And just like El Drugbo, we're all entitled to our doctor/patient priviledges of privacy.

Hey, ever wonder why they call him "Rush?"
