Parking Ticky
Permalink Closed

Here's the story:  I parked in front of Main Moon Monday night in order to pick up my son at Karate (Seishin Kan).  I did look at all the signs (there are many), some say "no parking", some say "no standing", and there's a "loading zone" one, but.....they all have arrows pointing in different directions...AND......I figured I'd only be a couple of minutes, so whatever!

Anyway, when I came out (10 min. tops!), Officer Palumbo was pulling up behind my van.  I saw him and told Tanner that I was probably gonna get a ticket.  But the officer didn't say anything right away, so I buckled my son up in the car, and as I walked around to the driver's side.........Palumbo said "Excuse me maam, I have to give you a parking ticket."(Hello, maam?????!!, how freakin' old do I look?) He said he had to give me a ticket for parking in a loading zone.  I said "But I was LOADING my kid."  He chuckled, and said he hadn't heard that one yet.

So today at work, I came to find out that the people who work at the Mental Health Assoc.(same building) have already complained about the same thing (took pictures and sent them to the Mayor).  BECAUSE the signs are NOT clear, and why does Main Moon get preferential treatment?  There are other businesses on Main st. that don't have back delivery entrances, but do not have loading zones out front.  What's up with that?  Their food's crap anyway (kidding! maybe...).

AND.......this was 7:30 at night.  I work in a restaurant, and can guarantee you that they are NOT going to get a delivery that late!

I made my own parking tickets for stupid people who park too close to my car, block sidewalks, take handi-capped spaces and run into the store...

MC,

That's awesome. I should do the same.

Have you gotten any reaction? Or are you not usually around to get one?

Here's a copy. If you read the legalese at the bottom, you'll see why I don't stick around, or at least, take credit for it.

Yeah, people who can't figure out how to park piss me off.

Like the lady in the apartment building across from ours... she has a handicapped permit from her mirror and apparently feels that gives her permission to park in BOTH handicapped spaces for her building.  At first, I thought she was just a horrible parker (she always BACKS in).  Then I thought maybe she needs both spaces...  then I saw her.  She has a cane.  Doesn't even really need a handicapped spot since no spot in our parking lot is really far from the door.  She's just a be-yotch.  (I'm telling you, these are the same people who get in the SmartTag only lanes when they don't have a transponder in their car)...

If you can't PARK the vehicle, you shouldn't be allowed to DRIVE the vehicle.
